The rising global demand for sustainable solutions in everyday products has led to the development of biodegradable super absorbent materials (bio-SAPs), a breakthrough technology combining performance with environmental responsibility. Unlike conventional super absorbent polymers (SAPs) that are petroleum-based and resistant to degradation, bio-SAPs are engineered from renewable resources such as starch, cellulose, and other natural polymers. This innovation addresses the growing concerns of plastic pollution and waste accumulation, especially from disposable hygiene products, packaging, and agricultural applications.

One of the most promising uses of biodegradable super absorbent materials is in personal hygiene products such as diapers, sanitary pads, and adult incontinence items.
